Children’s Workshop
Trust, fly and discover dance and imagination.
Suitable for: age groups 2-3yrs / 4-6yrs / 7-15yrs.
Recommended length: 45min /1.5hr / 3hr
Youth Dance Workshop
Move, groove and create together.
Suitable for: age groups: 9-16yrs / 16-19yrs
Recommended length: 2-3hrs / full day of dance.
Family Live Folk Music & Dance Workshops
A joyous opportunity to dance with your family and friends, meet new people, move, imagine, draw and listen to Wilfred Kimber’s captivating, beautiful folk inspired music.
Open to all ages, this is an intergenerational workshop. We welcome families with babies, young children too. No previous experience is needed, the room will have chairs and a calm corner where you can rest, watch and draw whenever you wish to amongst the dancing!
Over 50s Workshop
Move and Meet! A uplifting energising and calm workshop for anyone over 50 years old. Suitable for wheelchair users if the venue being used has disabled access.
Recommended length: 1hr 15mins
Professional Dance Artists Workshop
Choose from a:
– Physical movement improvisation workshop – Discover your physical and imaginative potential.
– Teaching Workshop (sharing skillsets, a toolbox of planning ideas, approaches to behaviour, and using non verbal communication within your teaching).
Suitable for: those who have trained in dance.
Recommended Length: 1.5hr/ Half Day / Full Day
Artists and Children
A unique opportunity for local children and local dance artists to join Katy Hewison & Team to take part in a physical workshop using improvisation, non verbal communication, scores, drawing & mark making and dance games. An inspirational experience.
Suitable for: children 3-6yrs (or 6-9yrs) & dance artists (who hold a DBS check and degree in dance)
Recommended Length: 1.5hr / 3hr
(Note – this is the same workshop as our Improplay Performance Project’s Taster Sessions.
Schools Workshops and Teacher CPD Sessions
Practical demonstrations and a print out take home resource (sharing top tips, movement games, positive behaviour approaches from Improplay Methodology and practice).
Tailored towards teachers upskill interests.
Recommended length: 1hr /Half Day / Full Day

ACCESS SUPPORT & INCLUSIVITY
We received Scope Charity’s Inclusive Activity Award in 2020. This supported Improplay to develop our inclusive practice practically in workshops, projects and also within our policy documents, training, and participants sign up process. Please get intouch to discuss further, we can provide:
• Workshops for SEND schools
• Additional ESAL support
• Additional support for SEND children/additional needs in your school settings prior to & during delivery.
• 1-1 ‘hello’ chat sessions (online or inperson)
• Welcoming videos of the studio/theatre spaces & ‘get to know the team’ videos.
• Sessions to fill out about me logs with families prior to sessions so that we can get to know your interests & needs further
• Additional support assistants/chaperones when appropriate.
