Where we started
For initial development, we created a “proof of concept” prototype using a pre-made multi-sensor from Texas Instruments. The goal of this was to prove that we could use the sensors on the board to interpret a basic form of tracking information like spins, flips, and jump height. The associated app was a simple development level Bluetooth reader. A promising result of this prototype was the ability to track spins within a very small change of degrees.
Where we are now
We have developed several generations of our own circuit board to house the various sensors we have chosen. Selection and development of the motion analysis algorithm that will more accurately interpret the tricks done by the user. Currently no Bluetooth communication exists and the algorithm is still in early development.
Where do we go from here
In future blog posts, these are some examples of development level topics we will keep you updated on:
• Bluetooth connection and security
• Motion analysis development
• Trick lists
• Battery saving options
